History

Sicily, Province of Agrigento, 19 June 1938, the Bongiorno family celebrates the birth of their son Giuseppe Pepé. The Bongiorno family grows to 9 children, 5 sons and 4 daughters. The people in the village of Favara live largely from what nature provides. Just about everything is prepared at home.

To Belgium
In 1965 Pepé decides to look for work in Belgium, which becomes his new fatherland.

The love of his life
In 1969, Pepé took the love of his life, Ada Aielli, as his wife.

Vincenzo
On Epiphany Day, 6 January 1970, Pepé's luck is in. His son Vincenzo Bongiorno is born.

Giosue
On 28 December 2000, Pepé's first male grandchild was born, Giosue Giuseppe Bongiorno.

Simone
On 23 March 2004 it is time for another celebration. Giosue gets a little brother, Simone Bongiorno.

On 19 August 2009 Vincenzo Bongiorno marks the foundation of bvba Bongiorno.

Introduction of Don Pepé
After an 18-month development period, Bongiorno will launch Don Pepé, a delicious liqueur based on Sicilian blood oranges, on the Belgian market in February 2016.

On 16 November, Don Pepé will be festively introduced to the press and public.

New design
In 2017, Bongiorno came up with a refreshing new design for the liqueur bottles.

Art of Bongiorno
In April 2018, the entire product line was labelled in the unique Art of Bongiorno house style.

Product of the Year
In October 2020, our limoncello became Product of the Year.

Launch of Bongiorno Food
In November 2020, Bongiorno launched its food products.

Launch of new products
In 2021, Bongiorno launched 3 new liqueurs. The Sambuca, SamNera and the Aperitivo.

Launch of new website
In June 2021 our new Bongiorno website was launched.
